    The Retreat East team wanted to increase brand awareness, organic traffic and drive bookings for all aspects of the retreat with particular focus on the spa, accommodation and the restaurant.

    We have been working with the Retreat East team since December 2022 and have seen incredible organic growth for the business. Within 90 days of starting work on the website organic monthly traffic rose from 8,000 clicks to over 10,000 clicks, the number of keywords ranked for increased from 1648 to 2185 and the work on Retreat East off-page profile resulted in backlinks rising from 550 to 1542 in the same 90 day period. 

    We have also seen a huge increase in the percentage of non-branded traffic to the website. When we began work traffic was heavily branded with branded traffic sitting at 96%, now that weighting has switched with non-branded traffic sitting between 65% to 70% each month.

    how did we do it?

    Upon review of the website, it was clear the website was lacking in search focussed content and heading structure. This was the first area of on-page activity for us as the majority of pages on the website were very low on word count. Once the keyword strategy had been agreed, our copywriters got to work on increasing the word count and creating SEO focussed content for all main landing pages. We also developed a targeted blog diary to consistently introduce fresh content to the website that was not only informative but also benefited our bespoke SEO strategy. Next on the content strategy hit list was developing a large bank of FAQs covering a variety of topics to satisfy the voice search element of search engine algorithms.

    After our initial content bomb, we moved onto aligning metadata to the keyword strategy and more of the technical aspects of SEO including optimising site speed, mobile optimisation and internal linking. 

    Of course, alongside our on-page work we also implemented our off-page strategy. A review of current listings revealed some inconsistencies so after tidying up current listings, our team moved onto securing new citations in high authority directories. Our team also began work on implementing our targeted backlinking strategy to support increasing Google’s trust rating for Retreat East.
